Earlier this year, Hawaii Gov. David Ige convened a committee of Hawaii-based community leaders and requested that planning commence for the 75th Commemoration of the anniversary of the bombing that occurred on Oahu on Dec. 7, 1941. Pacific Historic Parks (PHP) has responded to the call and has dedicated significant resources and time to assist in this significant endeavor that will be marked by a series of events spanning Dec. 1-11 in Hawaii. There are some of us still around that we want to talk to, and this gives us a fine way to do it.
Considering there were 84,168 uniformed personnel eligible for membership by their being on Oahu at the time of the attack on Dec. 7, 1941, we still have a fairly accurate count of 2,747 on the right side of the soil as of May 2016. Continue reading Pearl Harbor Gram
